At C5 Cattle Co., we believe good beef starts with how cattle are raised.
Our cattle are raised on open Texas pasture with a grass-focused diet and finished with a touch of grain to enhance marbling, tenderness, and flavor. We do not use feedlots, added hormones, or antibiotics. The goal is simple: clean, wholesome beef raised with care.
That approach allows us to keep the cattle in a more natural ranch environment while still producing the rich flavor and eating quality people expect from premium beef. By staying closely involved with the herd and focusing on sound nutrition, low-stress handling, and responsible stewardship, we can offer beef that reflects the care that goes into raising it from pasture to processor.
That hands-on approach means we know the cattle behind the beef we sell. From everyday herd care to the decisions that affect their health, nutrition, and handling, C5 remains involved throughout the process. Bred for Quality
Our female herd is a Santa Gertrudis/Hereford cross, bred to Angus bulls. This produces calves that are approximately half Angus, one-quarter Hereford, and one-quarter Santa Gertrudis — giving us predominantly Angus beef while retaining the strengths of all three breeds.
We value the Angus influence for its marbling and eating quality, while the Hereford and Santa Gertrudis genetics contribute hardiness, adaptability, and strong maternal traits well suited to Texas ranching.
From Our Ranch to Your Table
When you reserve a C5 beef share, you are buying directly from the people who raised the animal.
We coordinate the processing process with you, and once the animal is harvested, your final balance is based on hanging weight. From there, you receive your beef directly through the processor according to the arrangements made for your order.
There are no mystery supply chains and no disconnect between the ranch and the food on your table.
